Grand Prix Skateboarding
GRAND PRIX SKATEBOARDING PUTS THE SPOTLIGHT ON AN ICONIC EUROPEAN SKATE EVENT.
Grand Prix Skateboarding refers to the Grand Prix of Skateboarding in Lausanne, an influential skateboarding event series initiated by Raphael Mettler in 1996. The event quickly became a magnet for prominent skateboarders worldwide and played a key role in elevating skateboarding’s profile across Switzerland and Europe.
By 2002 the event was drawing internationally renowned riders and featured courses designed by skating legends like Eric Koston and Bob Burnquist. These courses replicated famous skate parks and urban settings and helped establish Lausanne as a premier destination for skaters in Europe.
