Red Dragon

Red Dragon, also known as RDS (Red Dragon Supply or Red Dragon Apparel), started in the mid‑1990s when Vancouver skateboarders Colin McKay, Rob “Sluggo” Boyce and Moses Itkonen turned their crew into a brand rooted in skate culture. They opened a skate supply shop in North Vancouver around 1996 and expanded into apparel by 1998, blending their roots as a tight‑knit skate crew with creative design and streetwear influence.

The name, inspired by the Thomas Harris novel The Red Dragon and the red dragon tile from Mahjong, reflects both a shared cultural motif and a hint of rebellion. Over the years RDS has grown into a respected skateboarding brand known for supporting grassroots initiatives, producing influential skate videos and maintaining deep ties to the Canadian skate scene. Their products include clothing, accessories and skate hardgoods, and they remain closely tied to their original skate community.
